There’s a ruckus in Mill River! 3 comedians meet in Prince Country for a side-splitting evening of stand-up. PEI’s Shawn Hogan has appeared with Halifax Comedy Festival, on CBC’s ‘Just For Laughs’, Sirius Xm’s ‘JFL Originals’, and more. He recently opened for Gerry Dee at the Confederation Center of the Arts, and hosts this triple bill. New to the festival, Arthur Simeon is a Ugandan-Canadian who has been featured on ‘Just For Laughs’, The Debaters, HBO, Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, and more. He’s earned laughs all over the world with his infectious wit and comedy stylings. Returning for a 3rd season is Martha Chavez. The Nicaraguan-Canadian has enjoyed a successful career, touring the comedy club circuits in Canada, the US and Latin America. With two nationally televised stand-up specials, the Best Standup Comic of 2017 (Canadian Comedy Awards) has appeared on Just For Laughs, The Debaters become a Small Halls favorite.

The Best Medicine Comedy Show returns to Florence Simmons Hall! This night of stand-up has become a highlight of our season. Hosting the evening is PEI’s Shawn Hogan, who has appeared with Halifax Comedy Festival, on CBC’s ‘Just For Laughs’, Sirius Xm’s ‘JFL Originals’, and more. WHAT IS IT???
Slide Piece is a wonderfully weird comedy show featuring a rotating cast of celebrated performers (anyone from musicians, comedians, actors, improv performers, presenters & personalities) prepare and present a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation on any topic they choose to the delight and bewilderment of the crowd...but there's a twist.
Before the show, the host (me, Shawn Hogan!) has secretly planted one surprise slide into each of the performer's presentations. They won't know what it is or when it's coming, but they'll have to roll with it live on stage, in real time, to our amusement.
After the presentation, the spotlight is now on YOU, the audience, as you have to guess which slide was the secret plant! There's a quick Q&A for you to ask questions and then the crowd collectively takes a guess at which slide was the imposter. Will the performer get away with it, or will the audience spot the odd piece out?
